“Amphibian” over at GM Inside News compiled February sales data and put together pie charts depicting market share for manufacturers and brands.
After 2009’s autopocalypse, several GM and Chrysler dealerships have struggled to stay in business after having their franchise licenses revoked. Some, like Reuther Chrysler in Creve Coeur MO, have relied on income from service and RV and used car sales. Others have taken on Kia and Hyundai franchises, paving the way for increased Korean market share. One in Wentzville, Missouri sued and won back its franchise license in a settlement.
The Titan is overdue for an overhaul. Ford is making money hand over fist.
I guess its Saab week on the blog. Contrary to popular opinion, especially among fellow Saab enthusiasts, General Motors did not destroy Saab.
Its a bit premature to call Saab independent.
GM’s top management are calling for the return of Bob Lutz, the product guru that transformed Chrysler’s lineup in the 90s and revamped GM’s product portfolio in the 2000s.

This book was heartbreaking. In a few short years, Chrysler went from being an example of what Detroit could do with a can-do attitude to a child chained to a bedpost and left to starve by Daimler.
